WHO ARE THE FAYETTEVILLE FURY?
The Fayetteville Fury is more than just a soccer club; we are the Fury Family and we strive on being a beacon of positivity, unity, and change in the Cumberland County community.
Our team comprises talented young athletes, aged between 18 and 23, who are passionate about the game and dedicated to honing their skills. By joining our team, these players aim to elevate their game and pursue their dreams of a professional soccer career.
Over the years, our roster has featured players from various corners of the globe, as well as from states across the United States. Their diverse backgrounds enrich our team and contribute to the dynamic spirit of soccer in Fayetteville.
WHEN WILL THEY ARRIVE AND LEAVE?
The Fayetteville Fury's season kicks off in April 2024 and extends through July 2024. While most players stay until the end of the season, some may depart earlier due to various reasons such as injury, academic commitments, or professional opportunities.
WHAT DO I NEED TO PROVIDE THE PLAYERS?
As a host family, your support plays a crucial role in the players' experience with the Fayetteville Fury. You'll provide them with a welcoming environment, including a private, air-conditioned bedroom (with window unit if available), access to laundry facilities, and shared bathroom privileges. Additionally, players appreciate space in the fridge for their belongings and a spare key for their convenience.
More than just a place to stay, hosting a player means treating them like a member of your family. Inviting them to join in on family activities, respecting their privacy, and establishing clear house rules fosters a positive living environment for both parties.
WHAT DON'T I NEED TO PROVIDE?
While your hospitality is invaluable, there are certain things you won't be expected to provide. Players are responsible for their own transportation, whether carpooling with teammates or utilizing their personal vehicles. Meals are also taken care of by the team, with post-game and pre-game meals provided for players. Hosting families are not obligated to cook or provide food, but players appreciate access to kitchen facilities for their own culinary needs.
Furthermore, financial assistance in the form of cash is not permitted, as it may compromise the players' amateur status. Players are expected to maintain cleanliness and respect for your home and property, handling their own housekeeping duties and laundry.
